Twitter Mentoring

As introduced in this previous post, I will be hosting an 8-week Twitter Mentoring Program with the first series beginning on November 25, 2013.

My preference for facilitation has been to 'let it happen', and 'trust the process', so this mentoring program will be no different. Certain goals will be achieved within a flexible structure, but along the way, I want to recognize the fact that each participant brings different knowledge, experience and skills to the table and may change their approach and needs before the 8 weeks is over.

From novice to more experienced, my goal is to help all participants achieve the following:
  • Learn how Twitter works by utilizing its basic and more 'advanced' functions
  • Interact with other Twitter mentees and users to build a following and network
  • Learn how to be efficient on Twitter so it doesn't become overwhelming
  • Discover tools within Twitter and third-party apps that can enhance the Twitter experience
  • Consider your 'voice' and how your personal brand comes across via Twitter
  • Be aware of the benefits, advantages and opportunities possible with Twitter
How this Twitter Mentoring Program will happen (keeping in mind flexibility):
  • All participants must have a Twitter account.
  • The hashtag, #learnwme, will be used to track progress, practice & changes.
  • Activity requests and practice exercises will be posted under #learnwme and from @JGoodTO every Monday during the 8 week mentoring program.
  • Feedback will be given through one or all of the following:
    • Mention of a participant(s) in a tweet
    • Direct Message to mentees
    • Video blogs posts (vlogs) on this page
    • Written posts on this 'Twitter Mentoring' page.
  • Participants can pose questions or ask for help at anytime throughout the Twitter Mentoring Program but only via Twitter and should expect some delay at times for a response that is either sent via Twitter or is referenced in a weekly vlog or blog post.
I look forward to mentoring you and hope you find the experience rewarding, helpful and enjoyable!
